![]() ![]() I said in my review that Samus appears like flexing is her natural state. ![]() Why wouldn’t she act like she had already won her fight against Kraid before it started? Who would she show off for?īut that’s not to say that Samus doesn’t look cool - she always looks awesome. She’s faced many of these threats before, and she knows how to neutralize them. This is one of the most dangerous people in the universe, and she knows it. While Samus rarely engages in vocal communication, her body language tells an engaging story. This game gives you more options and more reasonable telegraphs, but punishes you hard for screwing up. Action, pushing forward, and violence have worked for her - and guess where she is most expressive. I love Super Metroid, just played through it over the last few days, but a lot of times that game throws so much combat damage and poorly telegraphed attacks at you that encounters can feel like stat checks more than skill checks. More than that, talking never would have solved any of the problems she faces. Samus hasn’t really had anyone to talk to, so she didn’t talk. From the beginning, Metroid games have always been about isolation and self-reliance. Metroid Dread for the Nintendo Switch home gaming system Gameplay Become the ultimate warrior Samus can acquire and use powerful abilities to navigate a dangerous world. Samus’ silence feels like a truthful reflection of the life she’s lived and the games she stars in. These spindly terrors each behave a little differently from one another and occupy their own, specific 'EMMI zone' areas of. And it reveals even more about her character. This Metroids 'Dread' is realized by seven hunting robots called EMMIs. When she faces down an enemy or discovers something important and says nothing, we can longer dismiss that with “well, Samus never talks.” Instead, she is making a choice to remain quiet. #MetroidDread #SamusAran #VoiceActing /tUB3T8rtAUīut the fact that Samus can talk recontextualizes when she doesn’t talk. Thank you, thank you so much for appreciating my work. It feels like a bunch of bugs all sitting on top of. The run up you need, combined with the down input which doesn't always register, and the fact you have to break out of spin jump by shooting before activating it. I am so lucky to have voiced such a strong character and I am LOVING your reactions. Only issue I have with this game is speed blocks. Samus Aran doesn’t say much, but when she does, she really means it. ![]()
